THE WINNIE HEALTH CARE ENDOWMENT
In September of 2001, thanks to the generosity of several clients, a fund was established to assist with the financial burden of caring for a loved companion animal in need of emergency treatment for those who, otherwise, would be unable to pay for the recommended treatment.
"Winnie" was a black cocker spaniel who was found as a stray and adopted a local family. "Winnie" became the mother of six puppies, many of whom still reside in the Camden area. The matriarch of the family, "Winnie" is described as a "sweetheart" with big, black, gentle eyes, who was completely loyal to her master. "Winnie" died at 8 years of age - much too soon.
The generosity of the Fund's benefactors has, since its inception, insured the continued relationship of over a dozen clients and their loved pets.
The fund can be used only with Wateree Animal Hospital veterinarian and administrative approval. It is intended to assist those clients whose bond with his or her pet is extremely tight, and in situations where the client might otherwise need to consider euthanasia for his or her beloved companion.
